In the 110th Congress, Heller sits on the House Natural Resources Committee, which has jurisdiction over many issues that impact wildlife and deals directly with the global warming crisis.
Given his sizable contributions from industries that only worsen the global warming crisis, it’s no surprise that Heller chooses to keep his head in the sand when it comes to global warming.
Heller wants to continue our crippling dependence on oil. Instead of reducing our country’s dependence on oil and dealing with our global warming crisis, Heller supports extracting global warming-producing oil reserves from shale as a means of resolving our energy crisis.
When he had an opportunity to help fight global warming in 2007 with his vote on H.R. 6, Heller stood with corporate polluters and their lobbyists and voted against repealing billions in subsidies to energy companies.
Heller, a member of the House Natural Resources Committee, voted in June 2007 against legislation to help combat global warming and protect wildlife from its impacts.”
